The European Union regulations 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh) came into force in June 2007. REACh has implications for manufacturers, importers and users of chemical substances, preparations and articles.
Under the terms of the regulations PEM are considered a downstream user of preparations and articles (article 3(13) of REACh). As such, our obligations are to ensure appropriate use of chemicals, preparations and articles and communication of information along the supply chain. Obligations for substance and preparation registration or notification do not exist for PEM.
To the best of our knowledge, based on information received from our suppliers PEM products do not include any components containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) above specified threshold levels nor are such materials used in the production of our products.
PEM does not engage in any third party analysis of its products or raw materials.
PEM continues to work closely with its suppliers and reviews changes to the regulations and additions to the published SVHC Lists to ensure prompt and accurate flow of information in the supply chain and compliance with the REACh regulations.
