The European Union (EU) RoHS directive, 2011/65/EC aims to control the use of certain hazardous substances in the production of new electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). For the purpose of the directive, products are grouped into one of eleven categories. PEM products are considered part of Category 9 - Monitoring and Control Instruments.

There are a number of exemptions to the RoHS directive, including Category 9 – Monitoring and Control Instruments, which is currently considered outside the scope of the directive. This exemption will cease in July 2017.

By virtue of the current exemption clause all PEM products are compliant with the current demands of the RoHS directive.

PEM understands the importance of RoHS legislation and recognises the value of this directive to its customers. We are currently undertaking a review of all products regarding the level of compliance to the higher demands of the directive and we aim to comply with these standards in advance of the 2017 deadline imposed by the EU.
