RCT Industrial Current Sensor

RCTi

RCTi and RCTi-3phase

The RCTi is a current transducer for permanent installation. Simple to install and easy to retrofit, the Rogowski (sense) coil is thin, lightweight, flexible and clip-around. The secondary output from the transducer is an instantaneous voltage proportional to the measured primary current providing an accurate, low cost, wide-band measurement of the primary current.

The RCTi is typically used with power and harmonic meters and analyzers, current meters, data-loggers, data acquisition cards, and in power quality applications.

The RCTi is available as a single channel transducer (RCTi) or as a 3 Channel Version (RCTi-3phase)

RCTrms

RCTrms and RCTrms-3phase

The RCTrms is an ac current transducer for permanent installation. Simple to install and easy to retrofit it combines the benefits of a thin, flexible, clip-around Rogowski (sense) coil with a signal conditioner providing accurate, true rms measurement, of ac current.

The RCTrms has an industry standard 4-20mA output making it ideal for process control, status alarming or system monitoring purposes. Typically the RCTrms is used with SCADA systems, PLCs, data loggers and protection equipment.

The RCTrms is available as a single channel transducer (RCTrms) or as a 3 Channel Version (RCTrms-3phase)

rct1a

RCT1A

The RCT1A is a genuine Current Transformer (CT) replacement but has all the intrinsic benefits of a thin, light-weight, flexible, clip-around Rogowski (sense) coil. Just like a CT the RCT1A secondary output is an industry standard 0 to 1A (5VA pf 1) instantaneous current proportional to the measured primary current

Typically the RCT1A is used with power, current and power quality meters and is an ideal replacement for CTs in retrofit applications to avoid plant shutdown, applications with limited space for installation and particularly where existing monitoring equipment designed for a 0 to 1A CT input is installed.

Overview

The RCT range of AC current transducers are designed for permanent or semi-permanent installation and are available with industry standard outputs.

Key Features

  • Small, light-weight clip-around coils;
  • Length can be specified independently of the measured current;
  • No danger of open circuit secondaries;
  • Not damaged by high current surges;
  • Does not suffer from magnetic saturation;
  • Exceptionally easy to retrofit into existing plant.
