CWT APPLICATIONS |
The CWT is suitable for measuring AC currents ranging from a few 100 milli-amps to hundreds of kA at frequencies from below Hz to several MHz. These "clip-around" transducers are non-intrusive, easy to insert in confined spaces, have an isolation capability up to 10kV and are not damaged by over-current surges. They can be used for measuring current waveforms with very rapid switching transients, or current pulses, or merely sinusoidal or quasi-sinusoidal currents.
PEM's CWT Rogowski current transducers have been used throughout the world in numerous applications such as: |
|

|
- Monitoring current waveforms in semiconductor switches
- Development and servicing of power electronic equipment.
- Pulsed Power Projects - measuring capacitor discharge or current in magnetic accelerators
- Large magnitude currents - welding applications / motor drives / generators / HVDC
- Stray currents in machine shafts
- Measuring high frequency sinusoidal currents - Induction heating and high frequency power measurements
- Power quality measurements - Harmonic current measurements for EMC
- Measuring small AC currents in the presence of large DC currents
- Fault monitoring or circuit breaker interuption currents even monitoring lightening strikes
