COMPANY PROFILE
Power Electronic Measurements Ltd. (PEM) are world leaders in the design and manufacture of wide-bandwidth ac current measuring devices.
PEM has sold its high performance ac current transducers to companies, government laboratories and research institutions in over 35 countries. Major international companies using PEM transducers include, ABB, Bombardier, Hitachi, GE Corporation, Siemens and Toshiba.
Before PEM's existence Rogowski transducers were relatively unknown and only used for a few specialist applications. PEM can justly claim to have pioneered the general purpose Rogowski transducer as a readily available commercial product. Since its first range in 1991 PEM has continued to provide state-of-the-art Rogowski transducers across a broad range of applications and provided advice and assistance to engineers with current measurement problems.
PEM was founded in July 1991 by Mr. Rex Davis and Mr. Bill Ray. Both were Senior Lecturers in the Electrical and Electronic Eng. Dept. at the University of Nottingham and have been active in the fields of Power Electronics and Variable Speed Drives with many research publications mainly through the IEE and the European Power Electronics and Drives Association (EPE) for which they have both served on various boards and committees. In 2002 Dr Chris Hewson was appointed to the board of PEM as Technical Director having joined the company in 1999 after completing his PhD on variable speed drives at the University of Nottingham.
PEM remain committed to research into the performance of Rogowski current transducers as well as other novel measurement techniques for electric current, voltage and power.
PEM is an ISO9001:2000 registered company. The company first received accreditation in 1998. |
